Face-to-face Training - Individual Places Terms and Conditions 2024 - public, face-to-face, practical first aid courses
- Confirmation: All telephone and email bookings are provisional. Your provisional booking request will be acknowledged by email and an invoice will be sent to you for the full payment amount. A booking will only be confirmed when payment has been received.
- Payment: Places are only confirmed once full payment has been received. A booking confirmation email with pre-course information will be emailed as soon as full payment is received.
- Pre-course information: You must ensure that you have read the pre-course information which will be emailed to you as soon as payment is received and your booking is confirmed. You must be aware of pre-course requirements especially relating to enrolment, responsibilities and contact time.
- Cancellation & Refunds:
- Cancellation of course by client, the following conditions apply:
a. More than 14 days notice - Full refund available or no-fee transfer to another date
b. Less than 14 days notice - No refund, no transfer
c. Non-attendance for any reason - No refund, no transfer
d. Late arrival resulting in failure to attend - No refund, no transfer - Non-attendance for any reason: If you do not attend the course on the date that you booked you will not receive a refund and your place will not be transferred to another course date.
- Failed candidate - Assessment criteria not met: All first aid courses are assessed. In order to gain the first aid qualification candidates must meet the required assessment criteria. Full and active participation on the course is required to create the necessary continual assessment opportunities.
If a candidate fails to meet the required assessment criteria they will not be awarded the qualification certificate. In all such cases the full course fee remains payable and no refund will be issued. - Failed candidate - Late arrival or insufficient contact time (e.g. leaving early):First Aid qualifications have a mandatory contact time requirement. Late arrivals will be turned away from the course and prolonged absences during the course or from any session or leaving the course early will mean that the candidate will not receive the qualification certificate for which they have joined the course.
In all such cases the full course fee remains payable and no refund will be issued. - Cancellation by React First: React First reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course at any time. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances we will make every attempt to contact the attendee using the details given on their booking form. A full refund will be given.
- Cancellation of course by client, the following conditions apply:
- Special Needs: First Aid training is an active practical subject and can be physically demanding. Participants are normally expected to be physically fit enough to kneel, twist, and bend over simulated casualties, to sit on the floor, to perform simulated CPR, roll, be rolled and help roll simulated casualties.
Requests for reasonable assessment adjustments by individuals with unique needs will be taken by React First and submitted to the awarding organisation ITC First Ltd. React First must be notified of candidates with unique needs a minimum of 10 working days before the course start date. You must supply this information on your booking request form. For more information please read our Equality, Diversity and Fair Assessment Policy. All policies and forms are available to download from centre-policies.htm - Age: Attendees must be over 18yrs old to attend a public first aid course with React First. First aid is a practical subject and the training is practical and hands-on. If an attendee is under 18 years old they must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. Or, following a discussion with React First explicit consent must be given by a parent or guardian for them to attend alone.
- Certificates: React First receives certificates for successful candidates within 3 weeks of the course end date. The certificates are digital and are sent out by email as soon as possible, providing the invoice for the course has been paid in full.
- Insurance: Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance is held by React First Ltd. Copies will be made available upon request.
- Disclaimer: React First should not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or delay of any kind to the client, employee of the client or any third party by any act, default or omission of any kind however caused except so far as such liability cannot be excluded by law.
- Responsibilities: Clients are responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of behaviour; unacceptable behaviour may lead to offenders being asked to leave. You will be asked to pay for any malicious damage caused by yourself.
- Enrolment: Please bring some form of signed (e.g. credit card) or photographic (e.g. driving license) identity confirmation to your first aid course. If your identity cannot be authenticated during the course then certification will be delayed until the Awarding Body can confirm your identity.
- Photography: React First may seek to use photos of students for website / publicity purposes. Please advise us if you would prefer not to be involved in this.
Online Training - Individual Places Terms and Conditions 2024 - public, online mental health first aid training
- Confirmation: All telephone and email bookings are provisional. Your provisional booking request will be acknowledged by email and an invoice will be sent to you for the full payment amount. A booking will only be confirmed when payment has been received.
- Payment: Your place is only confirmed once full payment has been received. A booking confirmation email with pre-course information will be emailed as soon as full payment is received.
- Pre-course information: You must ensure that you have read the pre-course information which will be emailed to you as soon as payment is received and your booking is confirmed. You must be aware of pre-course requirements especially relating to system requirements to access the online training platform, responsibilities and contact time.
- Cancellation & Refunds:
- Cancellation of course by client, the following conditions apply:
a. More than 14 days notice - Full refund available. Any course materials received must be returned. The cost of returning all course materials is your responsibility, and they must be returned in a resalable condition otherwise a restocking fee of £30+vat will be charged.
b. Less than 14 days notice - No refund, no transfer
c. Non-attendance for any reason - No refund, no transfer
d. Late arrival resulting in failure to attend - No refund, no transfer - Non-attendance of live sessions for any reason: You must attend all the scheduled live sessions in order to complete the course and receive a certificate. If you do not attend a scheduled live session you will not be able to complete the missed session at a later date and you will not be able to attend the subsequent session(s). No refund will be given.
- Failed delegate - Course activities not completed and/or missed live session: In order to gain a certificate, delegates must attend all the scheduled live sessions for the course dates booked as well as completing all the required online activities. Missed sessions cannot be rescheduled.
In all such cases the full course fee remains payable. No refund will be issued and the place cannot be transferred to another course date. - Failed delegate - Late arrival or insufficient contact time (e.g. leaving a live-session early): Late arrivals will be turned away from the course and prolonged absences during the live sessions or leaving the live sessions early may mean that the delegate cannot complete the course.
In all such cases the full course fee remains payable. No refund will be issued and the place cannot be transferred to another course date.
The content of the training can be emotionally challenging and the course instructors recognise that it may be necessary for delegates to occasionally take a short break from the live sessions. In this case completion of the course is not affected. - Failed delegate - course activities not completed: All online learning activities must be completed within 4 weeks of the first live session in order to receive a certificate. No refund will be issued if a delegate does not complete the course within this timescale.
- Cancellation by React First: React First reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course at any time. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances we will make every attempt to contact the delegates using their registration details. A full refund will be given.
- Cancellation of course by client, the following conditions apply:
- Special Needs: A printed manual and a printed workbook accompany the online training. If you have specific accessibility requirements please state them on the booking form or contact us by email: info@reactfirst.co.uk or by phone: 0207 193 2608. For example large print versions are also available.
- Age: Attendees must be over 16 yrs old to attend a public online mental health first aid course with React First.
- Certificates: Full attendance of all 4 live sessions and completion of all online learning activities is required to receive a certificate. All online activities must be completed within 4 weeks of the first live session date.
- Insurance: Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance is held by React First Ltd. Copies will be made available upon request.

Group Bookings Terms and Conditions 2024
- Confirmation: All telephone bookings are provisional. A booking will only be confirmed when the completed booking form has been received by React First. Your course date(s) and course type will then be confirmed by email at which time you will be emailed pre-course information to be distributed to all attendees.
- Payment: Your invoice will be emailed to you once the course is confirmed. Full payment is due 14 days before the course start date unless alternative payment terms have been explicitly agreed.
- Pre-course information:The course organiser must ensure that all candidates are aware of pre-course requirements especially relating to enrolment, responsibilities and contact time. Please do this by distributing the pre-course information sent to you by React First to all course attendees before the course start date.
- Cancellation & Refunds:
- Cancellation of course by client: To allow the maximum flexibility for you to fill your course we allow cancellation up to 14 days before the commencement of the course with no penalty. If you cancel with less than 14 days prior notice the full course fee is due and no refund will be given.
- Failed candidates – Assessment criteria not met: All first aid courses are assessed. In order to gain the first aid qualification candidates must meet the required assessment criteria. Full and active participation on the course is required to create the necessary continual assessment opportunities.

If a course or part of a course has to be cancelled every effort will be made to reschedule to the course to a date suitable for both the client and React First. If a course is rescheduled full payment is due. If the course cannot be rescheduled no payment is due and a full refund will be given for any payment already made.

The certificates are electronic and are sent out by email to each attendee as soon as possible providing the invoice for the course has been paid in full. Where the course organiser has requested that certificates be sent to them for distribution the course organiser must undertake to distribute all certificates within 1 week of receiving them.
- Insurance: Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance is held by React First Ltd. Copies will be made available upon request.

- Client responsibilities: Clients are responsible for maintaining acceptable levels of behaviour, unacceptable behaviour may lead to offenders being asked to leave. No refund is given for candidates who do not complete the course. The client will be asked to pay for any malicious damage.
The venue must be safe and suitable for the delivery of an intensive training course. If the React First trainer finds the venue is unsafe or becomes unsafe, they have the right to cancel the course at any time. No refund will be given.
Where accommodation is provided, if the accommodation is found to be unsuitable for a quiet, safe nights sleep before delivering an intensive training course our professional trainers have the right to find alternative accommodation and React First will invoice for the additional amount. If you are in any doubt, please contact us for advice. - Enrolment: Increasing use of qualification certificates to support identity fraud and issues relating to assessment authenticity have resulted in all ITC qualifications having to verify candidate identity. All candidates must bring some form of signed (e.g. credit card) or photographic (e.g. driving licence) identity confirmation to their first aid course. If a candidate's identity cannot be authenticated during the course then certification will be delayed until the Awarding Body can confirm their identity.
